Follow a bright white line of a narrow winding road cut into the mountains at Deo Tram Ton, the highest mountain pass in Vietnam. Enjoy a view of bamboo forests, terraced fields, blue-green valleys at this long passageway between outpost towns of Sapa and Lai Chau, dubbed the Gate of Heaven. Standing at 1,900 m (6,233 ft), this pass offers spectacular panoramas with often stark differences in weather, fog and sun, cold and warm air. Visit traditional villages with different ethnic groups, and check out some scenic waterfalls. There are numerous observation decks along the road. • Heaven Gate ( Tram Ton as the locals called it ) is a beautiful mountain range with breathtaking views. There is one photo taking area where a long white staircase protrude out towards the clouds...

  • Picturesque mountain scenery, green valleys, quaint traditional tribal villages inhabited by the ethnic minorities, bamboo forests, rice terraces and breathtaking views. The best view of Sapa can be had from the Tram Ton Pass or Heaven’s Gate, the highest mountain pass in Vietnam. Also in the area is the Bac (silver) Water fall, if you have the energy continue up the Fanispan Mountain for a truly magnificent view
