Jerry's Jungle Tours, Duong Dong

My butt happily hurts from spending all day kicking around Phu Quoc on a motorcycle. Jerry is your go to man for the secret spots around the island. He will show the “real life” of Phu Quoc, without sugarcoating anything with rose coloured glasses. A refreshing perspective in comparison to the kinds of tours that only show you the facade of SEA. Multiple times we drove past roads or paths he hadn’t even explored, and went on adventures together to discover new spaces. Although I only spent one day with Jerry, suggestion would be to book him for 4 days (with a day in between each day for sore butt rest). He splits the island into four quarters, and shows you the ins and outs comprehensively. His prices are very reasonable. Jerry is originally from NZ but has been living on the Island for 12 years, and is happy to be called part of the furniture of the place. He speaks English and Vietnamese fluently.

We travel with Jerry and his man Lai for two days. We visited NW one day and NE the other day, beautiful scene along the way. My wife loves it, especially the NE. Jerry put our safety first. He helps you avoid the crowd and visit some of the quiet place. The trip ends at around three o clock. So, you still have time to visit the south, the cable car and the prison camp. And there is no tourist groups in the afternoon. You can even occupy the whole cable car by yourselves. In the end, you visit every corner of the island for just two days.
