Located in the vicinity of the very city center, Cao Dai Temple is a favorite stop for visitors all over the world, who come to see the place where the worshipers of the new religion come to pray. Established in 1919, and officially recognized as a religion in 1997, Cao Dai started here, on the island, as a combination of principles from all the major religions of the world. The diversity and the elements of all those religions can be easily seen in the architecture and decorations of the temple--through the Confucian design, Buddhist paintings and statues of elements, to the colorful, decorated walls and pillars. • It is a temple of Cao Dai religion. The temple is good looking from the outside, but nearly empty inside. Cannot compare to the Tay Ninh Cao Dai temple. Vao Dai is a kind of mixture of buddhism, catholic, taoism, confucianism etc., which is originated from Tay Ninh, near Saigon.
  • We walked by here when visiting the night market, impressed by the two-tower architecture and heavily coloured in a Vietnamese tone.
