  • The tram tour was about 30 minutes. Would be a better walking tour versus a tram as it really is a short distance. Was very fun to see everything they grow and hear the history of how many of the plants and vegetation made its way to the island. The store was nice and decently priced. The banana candy was amazing. One of our favorite treats when we visit Hawaii is apple bananas. Definitely pick some of these treats up before you leave!
  • We visited The Mill House for dinner, and while the food was worth the price, the service was horrible. We ordered an appetizer long before our entrees, but the entrees were brought first. When the entrees arrived, we had to ask about our appetizer, as well as a cocktail that I ordered. The server came out and informed us that the appetizer mix-up was due to a miscommunication. This would have been fine; however, once the appetizer was finally delivered (well after we finished our entrees), the server told us that the cocktail would still take a while, because there was only one bartender working that night. Our water was also never refilled, even though they sat close to empty for half of the dinner. I asked to just cancel the cocktail, and after that, the server stopped attempting to salvage the situation. She still never refilled our waters, and we had to ask her while she passed us to bring the bill. I'm not sure if desert is served here, but if it is, our server neglected to offer the dessert menu as well. In other words, it seemed like she was ignoring us as soon as she could tell that we were getting a little bit irritated. Overall, these kinds of mistakes would be acceptable at a cheaper restaurant, but when paying these prices, I recommend going elsewhere. Their management and training process should not even allow these kinds of issues to arise (and based on other reviews, this doesn't seem to be a rare occurrence). This was the first nice restaurant we chose to visit for our honeymoon in Maui, and it looks like we chose wrong. The rest of the island's been great though :) Three stars just because the food was so good, and it would be a disservice to their other staff and the lovely atmosphere to only give 1 star (which our server deserved).
