Over 100 years old, Sunken Gardens hosts some of the oldest tropical plants in the area, with over 50,000 different types of plant life spread over 1.6 hectares (4 acres). Stroll the pathways lined with exotic species, waterfalls, and demonstration gardens. The large building in the gardens, constructed in 1927, is part of the National Register of Historic Places. Originally the Sanitary Public Market, the building has also been home to the Coca-Cola bottling company, and what's thought to be the world's largest gift shop and wax museum. Took a tour with Steve who was excellent at sharing the history, flora and fauna of the gardens. A real gem in the middle of the city with a nice garden gift shop as well. Thank you for saving this...

Gardens were beautiful. The wildlife were fun to see. The birds were pretty interactive with you. They also had a wedding being set up, so it was nice to see what they had available for events. The $15 is a little pricey for what the whole area is but it is a pretty sight to see.

I was so excited to find Sunken Gardens, I wanted an outdoor wedding, but not on the beach or in a barn... which is a TOUGH find in Florida... Finding the Sunken Gardens was like finding the diamond in the rough. Stacey was very responsive and helpful leading up to the day, during the rehearsal and before the ceremony I was so happy that Stacey and Stephanie were there to help things rough smoothly they were great! I loved the Sunday Daytime Ceremony time of 11am before the park opened to the public at 12, it was our own private hour!
