Great Explorations Children's Museum, St. Petersburg

This place is dirty and the staff are stretched so thin that they can’t really manage all the things going on. The “shows and demonstrations” are usually weak and uncreative art projects. Nothing super mind expanding. Snake and spider held in captivity seem miserable and don’t move or interact. My kid thought they were dead. Toys are dirty consistently and the bathrooms are a constant wreck. Older children bully and cause physical harm to many of the very young children with no interference from parents or staff. Gift shop prays on parents and kids by putting overpriced amazon items at child height for them to beg for so not only are they screaming and crying because they don’t want to leave, but also because i don’t want to spend 60 dollars on a wooden toy. Management (Demi and Ellie) seems highly discombobulated and staff seem heavily under trained to the point where they spend most of their time looking for lost kids and talking to one another. Lack of seating for parents and general cool down areas lends to a dirty, overstimulating and overpriced experience.

Whoa. Whoa. Great Explorations employees are insanely awesome. Customer service oriented, warm, welcoming, good with kids, and do their job VERY well. My wife, just about everyone in our party and myself were VERY impressed with your facility, not to mention the staff. We had our son's birthday party this past Sunday and it went off without a hitch. From the initial contact and booking to arrival to coordination, the lizard petting and everything in between. I can’t thank them enough. Thank you! You guys helped turn a broken arm and no trampoline park into an experience we’ll never forget. Laurel, the CFO, runs an amazing facility and we will be back, if not for another birthday, then on a random Saturday! Eugene Geno’s Dad
