Immerse yourself in America's Gilded Age at Lightner Museum, where you'll be surrounded by Victorian-era antiquities. These collections are inside the Spanish Renaissance Revival-style Hotel Alcazar, originally built it 1887 and on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum, with three stories of artifacts from 19th-century life, is perhaps most well-known for its stained-glass works by Louis Comfort Tiffany and its Music Room, which is filled with instruments from the turn of the 20th century. Other exhibits include its first-floor Victorian village re-creation. For Lightner Museum and beyond, use our St. Augustine road trip planning tool to get the most from your St. Augustine vacation.

I don’t want to share too many photos of the inside, because it’s worth paying to to see everything inside! I drove over 2hrs to see it and I most definitely would again! This hotel did not disappoint! I personally did not get the chance to eat in the cafe that was once the worlds largest indoor swimming pool, however I would definitely recommend going to eat, the experience looks phenomenal! If you have any questions, the ladies who work at the museum were so kind and eager to answer any questions you have! I was delighted with facts and details about some of items in the museum! I will definitely be coming back to see the rest that I have not seen!

Quite an eclectic collection! We enjoyed both the exhibits and the history of the Lightner Museum. Each room was very educational and the also provided information on what the room was used for back when the museum was an active hotel. The guides located in each room were very informative and helpful. The provided additional insights to the exhibits. Cost was appropriate for the value of the experience.
