Dedicated to preserving the history of naval aviation, National Naval Aviation Museum displays more than 4,000 artifacts and 150 aircraft and spacecraft. In addition to the first aircraft to cross the Atlantic, the museum's collection includes other historical helicopters, biplanes, fighter planes, gliders, and space capsules. The museum also operates a flight academy, a six-day program meant to teach the youngest of aviation enthusiasts about the importance of science and math in aerospace careers. Pilot wannabes of all ages can ride the museum's flight simulators or watch IMAX films at the on-site theater. The museum gift shop sells aviation books, toys, caps, flags, patches, and posters. • It’s really disappointing that they only allow you in if you’re with someone with a military ID. While I understand that they had a shooting here, the person who did so WAS MILITARY. So this policy makes zero sense. Please open up and let the rest of us enjoy the museum. If they do I will gladly take this down and give them the five stars they deserve. My twelve year old son used to LOVE coming here. It’s a cool place - but for now only for an elite few.
  • I’ve gone here twice since moving here and still haven’t seen all there is to see. We bring family here every time they come to visit! There’s a diner inside, as well as some flight simulations. The front desk and guides are all very helpful and knowledgeable. My kids love coming here!
