Seven natural habitats and ecosystems and more than 1,000 different species are featured at Naples Botanical Garden. Cultivated tropical gardens and restored natural habitats spread across 70 hectares (170 acres). The plant life includes treats like a Thailand riverside scene and a Balinese temple garden. You can learn how the indigenous people of Brazil live in harmony with nature, and later watch performances at the Water Garden. A children's garden is filled with butterflies, treehouses, caves, climbing platforms, and more. Every year the Naples Botanical Garden adds new features that make it such a wonderful place. Certainly the focus is on tropical plants but there is so much more. Very well planned out. Nice Cafe for lunch. A birding tower that is just a few minutes walk and we always see wildlife. There are concerts many afternoons in a very nice location. At Christmas they have an evening light show that is well worth going to see. We always get an annual membership so we can go often. We just spent the morning at their annual flower show that was a big success. The garden has never looked better. Lots of new plantings and expansions. After Irma I was worried because so much was lost and the mostly two years of closures due to covid. But they have bounced back in a major way. We love going there. June is our favorite month to visit as everything is in bloom and the garden looks so lush. Also there are no crowds.
Beautiful spot, a must see! Highly recommend the walking tour but plan on being a little early to sign up for them. They fill up quickly. The guide was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. She answered several questions and tried to find the answers to those she didn't know. If you can, take your time walking through, we saw several birds, fish, lizards, grasshoppers....etc. They have a very diverse plant population to enjoy. Will definitely go back next time I come down to the area again.
