Popular with snorkelers, Kahaluu Beach is known for its unusually friendly fish, clear waters, and black-sand shore with lava rock. A surrounding, submerged rock wall keeps large waves farther out, allowing you to wade and swim in calm water. Large schools of curious fish swim directly up to you, or you can paddle away from the beach to see coral that feeds the local marine life. Don't be surprised to spot sea turtles, too: the peaceful creatures regularly visit this beach. Restrooms, showers, and lifeguards are on site. Took our adult son here to Snorkel for the first time. He had a great time. Safe place for a first timer. Easy in and out. life guards, rest rooms, showers and parking. (Though sometimes fills up)
