Breathtaking-Beautiful. I try to see and appreciate all the beauty Kauai has to offer. The Fern Grotto riverboat did that. Peaceful and relaxing. You get to learn about Hawaiian ‘s history on the Waimea River. My family of all ages enjoyed the outing.

We kayaked to the Fern Grotto and parked to the right of the green docks where it says kayak parking. The walk to the grotto isn’t very far and there are restrooms. The flowers were beautiful and the grotto was pretty cool in person, photos don’t do it justice. It is a part of WAILUA RIVER STATE PARK so if you kayak there you are allowed to see the grotto without riding on a tour boat.
