Create an itinerary including Turtle Bay Beach
Protected from big waves, Turtle Bay Beach is a lesser-known spot for snorkeling. The calmness of the water allows for great visibility of the coral reefs and tropical fish below the water's surface. The public beach also offers a good chance of spotting the endangered Hawaiian green sea turtle, a highlight for many visiting the island. The resort on the beach has been used as a setting for many TV shows and films, like "Hawaii 5-0," "Full House," and "Forgetting Sarah Marshall." If you work up an appetite swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing, there is a restaurant on the beach. • This place had a awesome snorkeling. Fish were of a abundance. Found a perfect spot under the tree line to the right of the beach, in front of the rock path. Definitely wear water shoes, sea urchins are pretty big here. And as always watch out for the unexpected current. Beautiful beach none the less.
  • Great public beach nestled in between resort properties. Large parking lot, public restrooms and facilities, free to enter. There was an area cordoned off around a Hawaiian Seal was sleeping under a palm tree to protect it and give it space. So cool. We went in Feb and the waves were tough everywhere else, the conditions weren’t good for swimming or snorkeling. The waters here were calm due to the design of the wave breakers so we were able to enjoy snorkeling here! The snorkeling is great for beginners, we saw a few reefs, lots of rocks, but a great variety of fish both small and large! A great family beach and good for young kids. Highly recommend for everyone.
