Create an itinerary including Georgia Sea Turtle Center
Georgia Sea Turtle Center is dedicated to the rehabilitation and protection of injured, sick, and disabled turtles. Founded as an organization for conservation, the center conducts research and educational programs to increase awareness and support for sea turtles. Though it's a working hospital, the facility is still open to the public. Visit to learn more about turtle conservation, and, of course, say hello to some of the patients. If you're coming from the beach, take note that you must wear shoes, a shirt, and cover your swimsuit. • This is my favorite place on the entire island. It's fantastic what they are doing to help the animals. The staff is so friendly and helpful. It's a great place to visit and learn some interesting about the turtles. They have a great setup there, and fun to learn about the total count of next. Also they have some extra adventures I'd ask about, including sunrise turtle walk. CHECK IT OUT!
  • My kids enjoyed this a lot (11 and 9). It is pretty small, one building has the patients in and has information about them all, the other is more of an information center/museum. There are several hands on displays and you can watch the staff working on injured turtles. This place does great work and is definitely worth supporting.
