On the north end of Jekyll Island, Driftwood Beach resembles a graveyard for trees. Oak and pine roots protrude from these shores due to the gradual erosion of the north shore. So worth the stop!!!! Spend the day, quick stroll, or whatever and enjoy all the driftwood. Great picture taking, dogs are allowed with a leash, spread a blanket and stay for the day, etc. So...

I LOVE this beach so much. I think it's important to mention that it's not really a good swimming beach, there is a beautiful one at the other end of the island for that. Driftwood Beach is perfect for pictures. Especially sunset and sunrise. You can actually stand in the exact same spot at certain times of the year to catch both. Different spots always. I have gone during every season!!

Super cool spot. We just happened to walk out at golden hour before sunset and there were tons of photographers here (and people). Well worth it for the sunset views. Very cool experience, ample parking (including ADA), and easy to access sand trails to the beach.
