The 8 km (5 mi) long beach at Little Talbot Island State Park offers opportunities for swimming, surfing, shelling, kayaking, and fishing. Located on a Florida barrier island, the park supports a variety of natural habitats, from sandy dunes to forests and marshes. While hiking or biking on the trails, you can stop by a picnic pavilion to have a snack. Camping is available, and you can reserve a spot up to 11 months in advance. The park has a limited number of canoes, kayaks, and bicycles for rent. Be cautious in the water, because the beach has no lifeguards and the currents can be strong. • This is a beautiful beach, we visited in April so there weren't many people out yet. You do have to pay to get on the beach because it is a state park. I will say that it's only a beach-we didn't...

  • This is a great beach to go to. The sand is soft and clean. The Rangers are very helpful and very nice. The bath houses are very clean and there are places to change as well as go to the bathroom...

  • Having a day to play here in the Jacksonville area, but not wanting the hustle & bustle of the touristy setting, I decided to visit. I loved it ! The beach was clean, with bathrooms just a short walk. Oh my at the shells, they just wash up, and my thought was how fun that would be for a toddler! I really enjoyed myself and glad I chose to go!

The bath houses are very clean and there are places to change as well as go to the bathroom. Dogs are not allowed on the beach. We did get to see some tortoises near one of the bath houses and it was super cute. Hoping to catch a glimpse of sea turtles the next time we go.
