This was on my "to do list"-a nice walk through nature in the city. It was extremely hot and I didn't see any animals but it beat sitting in a hotel...get outside!

Beautiful board walk trail throughout the preserve. The trail wasn't too long and was very easy for all members of our group to do. There were many pretty birds and trees. It was very quiet, which made it easy to hear the nature noises. There is also a nice and informative center. There is a cute little gift shop and some information displays in the center. The only cost to visit is parking, which is a dollar an hour.

This is the kind of park any city would be lucky to have. I have been visiting the Ft. Myers area for the past year, mainly to see my dad, who frequents Sanibel. On my way back to Miami, I decided to check out this place, and it's one of the best swamp boardwalks I've ever visited. Yes, the more famous Corkscrew Swamp is only an hour or so away, but this is an incredibly well maintained boardwalk with great interpretive markers and signs that sync to a free trail guide. They promote a quiet atmosphere and only one drunk woman on what was clearly a blind/first (Tinder?) date failed to obey. FYI, she is 60-65 years old with tons of plastic surgery who likes 20-30-year old guys who are former NFL players with at least 6'4 who have at least 6-7 million in the bank who like older chicks who look like leather bags. I'm sure she'll be back for those of you interested. In her defense, she does weigh slightly less than me (though at 6'0, 220, I wouldn't make the cut based on her criteria). Otherwise, it was incredibly serene. My only complaint is that you can occasionally hear the traffic noise since it's only a few hundred yards from busy Gladiolus Dr. Stunning wildlife and views.
