Lovers Key State Park is a protected coastal area that is as romantic as its name. Visit it to find bottlenose dolphins, marsh rabbits, and manatees that play in the shallow waters and marshes. Watch the skies to see an assortment of bird species, including hawks and warblers. The beach is 3 km (2 mi) of white sand, an area good for swimming. Cross over to Black Island for a kayak rental, or rent a bike to use on the paved trails that crisscross the island. Lover's Key had the best shelling of our entire trip. It's only $8 to park and a tram will take you from the parking lot to the beach. Highly recommended!

If you like to have an easy kayak... if you like manatees... Ya gotta go! Maybe it was my lucky day... but I saw 7 manatees. And a dolphin!!! Some beautiful wading birds, and just a beautiful peaceful paddle all around. Even had a staff meeting - of course I was supposed to have a vacation day, but I can do zoom almost anywhere... and it gave my peers something cool to see on the meeting while I peddled and showed them a couple manatees that kept swimming near my kayak! Even sitting under the mangroves for half of the meeting made it the best meeting location ever! I will definitely go back! Super easy paddle/peddle for that laid back, lazy, easy does it day!

Beautiful state park with wonderful beaches between Fort Myers Beach and Bonita Springs. There is plenty of parking for an entry fee of 8$ per car, which is very reasonable. We went there several times with our kids during our Florida holidays and it was always an experience. Even the little tram ride from the parking spot to the south beach is great for them. At the beach you have all facilities in place with restrooms, showers and picnic areas, as well as a little food truck. The beach itself is amazing with clear water, white sand and tons of shells. We will definitely come again ...
