With 6 km (4 mi) of white sand beach along the Gulf of Mexico, Honeymoon Island State Park offers a wealth of opportunities for exploring Florida's barrier islands. Rich in biological diversity, the park is home to many rare and threatened Florida organisms like the slash pine, armadillo, and tortoise. As you wander the park's trails through mangrove forests and across tidal flats, keep your eyes out for ospreys and other coastal birds. Be sure to bring your swim trunks to enjoy the clear, warm, shallow waters. You can access the island's treasures via a causeway from the mainland; it provides visitors with a concession stand and gift shop. • A good size beach with a bit of a walk to get a decent spot. Water was shallow and clean. There is a small cafe restaurant here along with somewhere to get changed too which is handy for people.

  • Enjoyed a relaxing walk on the north end of Honeymoon Island yesterday late afternoon. Peaceful & quiet with only the sea breezes and birds as noises. Getting away from people & traffic is easy on.....  more

  • Really well done. Loved the pontoon boat ride over to the park. Really large Marina with plenty of slips. Although the food at their snack bar was priced pretty high, the cheeseburger was really good and well prepared. The beaches are a short walk and just beautiful! White soft sand, gentle breezes and shade. Staff was very friendly and helpful..
  • Great Florida State Park. It has a North, Oasis and a Main beach. All different beaches have their own restaurant and souvenir shops as well as restroom facilities. The main beach had the only pavilion with a grill. You can also find a beach dedicated to pets where our best friends can enjoy the ocean breeze. If you enjoy gardens, make sure you visit their small but beautiful outdoor garden. The main building in their Nature Center was closed to visitors during our visit. There are several beautiful trails, if you enjoy hiking, that run parallel to the ocean. You can also find a nice park with several pavilions with grills as well as restroom facilities and a children's playground. However, at the time of our visit, the playground was closed. This awesome park was enjoyed by everyone in our family, young as well as adults. We'll visit again. Overall, plan to spend about 4 hours in this park.
