The museum boasts a rich permanent collection of artwork and masterfully crafted objects that provide insight into Japanese culture and everyday life. The collection focuses on the Meiji period, which extended from the mid-19th to the early 20th century, and brought major changes to Japanese society. Beautiful place to enjoy nature. Lots of fish and turtles. Pretty gardens. There is a cafe with really good food as well.

The essence of this place is a nice Japanese garden with a pathway going around a lake. Very enjoyable and worth a visit - although even a shady garden is not the best place to spend time in Florida..... more

I love Morikami gardens. It's a haven of peace and beauty. Everything is meticulously maintained. The bonsai area is a feast for the eyes. Just walk around the whole garden at a leisurely pace and take your time to look, watch and observe, whether it's wildlife or flora. When you come out of there you feel calm and your mind seems cleansed from the noise of the everyday life. Such a treat! If you can, avoid weekends as it gets very crowded.
I took the drive down here with my friend for the day, and I am so glad I went! I highly recommend going early in the morning as it gets crowded in the afternoon and parking becomes scarce. I appreciated that they had a student discount to purchase a ticket. The garden is absolutely beautiful! The sights are breathtaking, and it is an incredibly peaceful walk. There are places to the side where you can meditate or relax in private. Sadly, the museum was under renovation when we came, so we didn’t get to see the inside. I also wish that they offered more unique things in the gift shop too. Overall, it was a great experience and had everything that I expected to see and more.
