Home to an extensive collection of tropical plants, including many rare specimens, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden spans 34 hectares (83 acres). Opened to the public in 1938, its primary role is to preserve biodiversity. Discover colorful flowering vines, waterfalls, towering trees, and more. Don't miss the Wings of the Tropics conservatory, where you can walk among vibrantly colored butterflies. If you stay still enough, one may even perch on your shoulder. Experience the sweet smell of ripening tropical fruit at the Whitman Fruit Pavilion. The gardens also host frequent art exhibits. The end, being old they have a man picking up those that are worn out to take back to the gate. The butterflies was some of the best I have seen.

Loved this place just wished we had more time here. We arrived late so only had a couple of hours which was nowhere enough. The place is vast with so many interesting plants & trees all laid out really well. We saw an alligator basking in the sunshine on the grass as we were driven around part of the area around the lakes by a knowledgeable gentleman. The butterfly house was amazing, so many beautiful colours & you had to be careful where you walked as not to tread on the butterflies. This also had some insect houses, I've never seen such a big stick insect! There are refreshments available & a shop but we didn't have time for either which was a great shame. All in all a great place to visit for all the family.

My favorite place to relax and disconnect from the daily activities. I love to spend the mornings at Fairchild. I feel connected with nature while observing the different species of plant and animals that surround this area. The place is well maintained and clean. The stuff are polite and very helpful. The cafeteria offers a unique variety of snacks at a reasonable price. It is a great place to show the kids the extraordinary in nature and to share with them a great quality time. I highly recommend this Garden.
