Dedicated to the memories of the “Amphibious Soldiers” of WWII, Franklin County is proud to be the location of North Florida’s premier WWII museum.

Our new facilities, located at 1873 Hwy 98 West, across from Carrabelle Beach Public Park, houses 4,000 square feet of artifacts, photos, memorabilia and memories of the soldiers, sailors and other military as well as civilian personnel who trained and worked here during the WWII years. Three Infantry division and two Special Brigades left here after training to confront tyranny both in Europe and the Pacific. Learn about their dedication, fears and heroism at our museum.

  • Big surprise in a small town! The staff is AMAZING and wonderfully informed and made huge improvements to the museum, displays and exhibits over the past few years. I'm super impressed with the team of dedicated volunteers who are making Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum a must see when you're cruising Highway 98. Across from Carrabelle Beach, you will find this gem of a museum including it's new motor pool display. I had no idea prior to visiting the Museum just how much there was to see and to learn from within the walls. Definitely stop in and check it out!
  • Wonderful local history museum. Makes all the things you hear about the wars much more real. Very informative and very touching.
