At Cape May County Park & Zoo, 550 animals are cared for in a pristine natural environment. Since its opening in 1978, the zoo has participated in numerous species survival programs. Now it is home to 250 mammals, amphibians, birds, and reptiles, and a breeding ground for snow leopards--large Asian cats with thick fur and paws for walking through snow. The park is known for being particularly tidy and organized. Picnic areas, bike paths, a disk-golf court, and even fishing ponds are available. Just remember, you cannot bring food into the zoo. However, you can purchase it from a cafe at the site, which offers healthy food, fast food, snacks, and beverages. • This was a great zoo, especially because it is FREE. It contains a variety of animals, with plenty of space for them to roam. Lots of walking, for sure, to be sure to go as early in the day as you...

  • Such a pleasure to walk around here and see the animals, plants and flowers. We had a great day with it not too hot out. The animals were active today which gave us quite a show. This park runs on...

  • This is a very nice zoo that is hard to believe runs strictly on donations(they are strongly encouraged and honestly deserved.) Peacocks and a few other birds roam around and look well fed. Very clean for both people and the animals. Takes about 2 hours to see all the animals and walk the grounds. Has a nice large playground before entering that is well maintained and all equipment working as intended. A good way to spend a morning or afternoon if you need a break from the beach.
  • I am a very anti-zoo person because I don't feel that animals should be kept in cages for human enjoyment but your zoo is truly a sanctuary for these animals. I love visiting as often as I can. These animals are very well cared for by the staff at the zoo and it is obvious everyone cares about the animal's well being. These animals are in areas where they are able to move freely and live in an environment reflective of their home in the wild. Thank you for saving these animals and giving them a good quality of life.
