Create an itinerary including Bishop Museum Of Science And Nature
Immerse yourself in the history of the state's Gulf Coast at Bishop Museum Of Science And Nature, where the story of the shoreline comes to life through artifacts, the stars, and the water. The planetarium reveals the story of the stars, and the aquarium tells the story of the waters with living displays. The latter houses a manatee habitat with viewing windows and a manatee rescue and rehabilitation center. The building and grounds combine three attractions, so consider a rest in the Spanish Plaza--an internal courtyard--in between sites to maintain your stamina. • I love this place, it’s small but full of gems and hidden wonders. Every corner you turn there is something amazing. Also love the planetarium, comfortable seats, and a good perspective on life. Heard they’re going to have the Pink Floyd light shows in the planetarium. Sounds like fun. Manatees are also interesting, worth a visit for sure. Then you can walk around the bayfront, or visit the farmers market on Saturday morning.
  • Beautiful museum with all sorts of interesting exhibits. My 6yo was really wowed by the fossils and mammoth as he adores prehistoric animals. My 4yo desperately wanted to see something "real" (aka: alive) and was totally satisfied by the manatees. 2yo rode in a carrier as I didn't want to chase him, but ending the visit in the Mosaic Backyard was a hit for all three boys.
