Tour Chartwell, the home of the influential British statesman Sir Winston Churchill. Inhabited by his family for over 40 years, the estate offers an inside look at Churchill’s political and private life. Tour the grand sitting room and study of the house, or stroll through the estate’s many rose gardens and woodland areas. From the terrace of the house, you can enjoy sprawling views of the surrounding Kent countryside. Stop by the restaurant for a Churchill-inspired menu using fresh ingredients from the kitchen garden. I would definitely recommend a visit to Chartwell. The house is very interesting to view. There is a volunteer in each room able to answer any question you have. I never realised Winston Churchill.... more

One of our favourite National Trust places. It's a glorious stately home in the Kent countryside, with excellent views on a good day. The garden is incredible, well with setting the rose walk and the peonies. In the house there's lots of Churchill paraphernalia to look at. Out in the grounds there is a walk around the surrounding hills including a couple of play areas and other activities; Fun for all the family. There's also a shop, second-hand bookshop and restaurant.

Stunning grounds to wander no matter what season. Great views across London from a beautiful park. If you have a love for trees, there are very ancient examples full of character. Large open green spaces to run and play for kids. The observatory of course will fill you heads with wonder.
