Played 18 holes this morning and the course was in great condition plus the views are the best you'll ever see from a golf course. Very friendly staff and lovely food in the clubhouse.

Beautiful course, great views, great condition for the time of year, a challenging course, great food at the bar

Unfortunately although the location of this course is fantastic and the course itself reasonable, I would urge anyone to reconsider before joining/pay and play. The course directors still allow fox hunting from the Blencathra hounds on their land. Of course it's under the guise of "exercise" however my experience has shown that to be a complete hoax. Several weeks ago 25+ hounds were rampaging across the course with no "masters" even on site, (video evidence was taken). Fortunately I didn't have my dog with me, although not so fortunate for the deer and foxes in the area. Please avoid at all costs until they can guarantee no hunts on the course.
