Create an itinerary including Tewkesbury Abbey
A former Benedictine monastery with the largest Romanesque crossing tower in all of Europe, Tewkesbury Abbey is the second largest parish church in the country. Of the church’s three spectacular organs, the most notable is the Milton Organ installed in the 18th century, while the most practical is the Elliot chamber organ of 1812, mounted on a movable platform. Attend a morning service to listen to the acoustics and enjoy a parish breakfast following the ceremony. Photography is restricted in the abbey. • Beautiful building, well looked after, clean and welcoming. Wonderful stained glass windows and gorgeous flower displays as well. A nice visit.

  • Amazing place, having won one of the most prestigious bell ringing competitions, held annually at the Abbey, it has an amazing buzz about the place. The vicar is lovely and very welcoming to what is a very unique Abbey and competition. The local bell ringers and volunteers do a fantastic job putting on the event. We'll be back next year to defend our title.
  • Absolutely gorgeous. All too often, such places can feel intimidating but it wasn't the case at all here. Its a beautiful peaceful place with stunning architecture and interesting history.
