Shap Abbey was a religious house of the Premonstratensian order of Canons regular situated on the western bank of the River Lowther in the civil parish of Shap Rural, around 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from the village of Shap, in the Eden District of Cumbria, England. Really nice ruins of the abbey. Its small so if its out of your way its not a must see. But if your local take the time to have a guided tour its pretty informative

Great place to walk to. Me and my mates went swimming in the river there everyday last summer and hope to this summer too.
