    Came here while on holiday in the lakes and absolutely loved it! Will be returning on our next holiday as enjoyed it so much!! Plenty to do with the kids and beautiful scenery. Cafe was lovely and sat outside, very nice food, cakes and tea.

    The exhibition is excellent, as is the adventure area and the large rose garden will be wonderful in summer. The ruins are atmospheric and the gardens within the old walls are lush and interesting. However, it should be emphasised that other areas remain in a ruinous state and visitors will need vivid imaginations to accept them as gardens. Information boards in those areas showing future plans would be welcome and useful.
