Create an itinerary including Aira Force Waterfall
Take a walk in ancient woodlands and landscaped glades to Aira Force Waterfall, a 20 m (65 ft) waterfall in the Lake District. Hammer in a coin to make a wish at the Wish Tree. Extend your walk past the falls along the river, and glimpse smaller waterfalls and even some red squirrels. Wear good footwear, as the walk to the falls is steep and damp at times. • Helpful staff and beautiful views! We walked all the way over Gowbarrow Fell. It was hard going and very windy but worth it at the top. Some beautiful old trees near the waterfall ❤️

  • Excellent for an exploratory walk. There are a number of loops to the path that circles the waterfall and feeder stream: the higher and further you go, the more challenging the path: good walking...

  • Such a beautiful place to visit. Quite busy and we were advised to go later in the afternoon but decided it didn't fit it with our plans. It would be nice to visit at a quiet time but it didn't affect our enjoyment of it at all. Kids loved to scramble over the river and we got some amazing photos 😍
  • Was visiting relatives so brought grandsons for the walk. Beautiful scenery & spectacular waterfalls. All enjoyed the walk in the fresh air. Took plenty of shots of some of the falls. If only it was warmer (and allowed!) a dip in some of the pools might have been refreshing: as it is, made do with skimming stones along with grandsons.
