Wander through this one-of-a-kind tree and shrub collection, inspired by landscapers of old. Batsford Arboretum, a 220,000 sq m (55 acre) arboretum and botanical garden, is home to about 2,900 trees. Look for the national collection of Japanese Flowering Cherry. The Garden Shop and Plant Centre team can offer gardening advice. Check the website in advance to check for special events. Grab coffee, lunch, or afternoon tea at the Garden Terrace Cafe on the wooden deck overlooking the center. I most liked the giant redwoods, but the selection of rare and common trees and flowers in a lovely wooded setting is a must see.

Beautiful and well-maintained gardens and wonderful trees. Many paths to explore, and not many excluded to me on a hired Tramper scooter, so my two-hour hire slot went quickly. Many seats to choose from if (like my wife) you want an occasional sit-down (whereas I was sitting comfortably throughout!) Book Tramper two-hour slot in advance (and your entry tickets, if it's likely to be busy). Cafe and shop etc good - we had an initial coffee and cake, then a spot of lunch when we'd finished. Plants shop quite extensive/good. My wife bought a couple of pot plants.

Batsford Arboretum is amazing with lots of spectacular trees and flowers. So tranquil and peaceful. The magnolia trees were in bloom and they looked and smelt amazing. They had an abundance of daffodils spread all over the park. This place is well worth a visit. Will go back again as would like to see all the lovely colours as the seasons change.
