Mersea Island Museum is a volunteer run local history museum. We open from May until September each year from 2pm until 5pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

The museum has a shop selling local items, some exclusive to the museum.

On Saturdays during the summer we offer history walks starting at the museum on Saturday afternoons 2.30pm.

Visits can be arranged to Mersea Barrow through our website.

The Resource Centre and shop are open Saturday mornings through the winter - see website for dates.

    Full of interesting and colourful displays covering local history and the heritage of the island. Only open Wednesday to Sunday 2 - 5 pm but we could have spent all day there.
