At Walker Art Gallery, see one of the UK's largest art collections outside of London. Walk from room to room to view works from the Medieval period to the present. Paintings by Dutch Masters, British Romantics, and French Impressionists all make their home here. Join one of the daily introductory tours to see highlights from the collection. If you're traveling with a child under the age of five, take part in hands-on activities designed for kids. Many of the exhibitions in the Gallery are permanent, but some are temporary. My Husband and I came to see an exhibition of Tudor Royalty. It was excellent, really well presented. The other exhibitions were also excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only criticism I have is the disabled access was very limited, but as the building is so old it could make it difficult to adapt. Anyway, there was always somebody who was happy to help us. We had the best day, it was totally amazing to be given the chance to get so close to these pieces of art and at such a reasonable cost.
