Built in the early 1900s by resident millionaire James Williamson, Williamson Park provides a touch of nature in the middle of the city. In addition to a lake and waterfall, you’ll also find a cafe, sundial, cycle path, public toilets, and many walking trails. Enjoy the view across Morecambe Bay from Ashton Memorial--made in honor of Williamson’s wife--the highest point in Lancaster. The park is free, but pay a bit extra to visit the butterfly house, reptile house, and aviary. Williamson Park is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , international travel planner Edition.

Lots to do here when restrictions are lifted. Butterfly house, great parks for kids, beautiful monument and gardens to explore. Only £2 a day parking but only about 40 spaces so getting there early helps.

Spent a lovely time here, much more than I was expecting. Well kept. Great cafe, had bacon bap and coffee sat out. Great views. Markers of what we could see.
