Situated on the shore of Derwent Water the marina offers a wide range of activities: SUP boards, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, group canoes, raft building, ghyll scrambling, fell walking, climbing and abseiling.

The marina also offers hire of all SUP boards, kayaks, canoes, row boats, sailing boats and windsurfers!

If you, like us, love being close to the water why not stay in our self catering apartments? We have three double apartments and 1 family apartment which can sleep 6. We accept well behaved dogs.

If you have a yacht or dinghy and are interested in keeping your boat at the marina this can also be arranged.

All staff members at the marina are extremely friendly and eager to help, so please, if you have ANY questions please call us, or email us. :).

As well as our activity website, we also have an accommodation website where you can check availability and book online:

  • We've been coming to the Lake District for years, always with the intent of bagging a few more Wainwright's, but this year we've been bagging Lakes and different forms of transport. We were really pleased to find Derwent Water Marine as they had sit-in, not just sit-on kayaks for hire. What is it with every other place that only have sit-on kayaks? Sure they're stable and speedy but not everyone wants a wet bum. Well done then Derwent Water Marine, a very well organised outfit with a good stock of differing hire boats and at competitive prices too. Very impressed.
  • Free parking for customers, friendly and helpful staff. We spent a very enjoyable 2 hours out on Derwent water (5 people, 2 canoes and one kayak with 3 of us aboard) landed on one of the islands and went for a little explore. All equipment in good, clean condition, everything seemed to be very professionally run. Highly recommend.
