Lakeland Museum, Kendal

Nice little museum full of locally sourced artefacts. New LGBTQ+ exhibit was interesting too

We visited the Museum on the recommendation of The Tourist Information Centre and boy was that a good recommendation. Despite being small and affordable this was among the best in Britain (and we've visited all the London ones). The museum is a series of rooms which you can walk through and examine (without touching of course) the exhibits. Sound recordings add to the atmosphere and textual information boards give loads of interesting detail of life in The Lakes. It was great and we really enjoyed it. Lovely gift shop too and a little restaurant which was sadly very understaffed the day we visited but the chef did a sterling job of meeting customers needs. Well done him.
