  • Like many people, I know Beatrix Potter's books from childhood so staying locally this was a must visit. Lovely cottage and as usual maintained wonderfully by the National Trust. There are no signs in the property so I bought the guide book. It was very informative and massively added to our enjoyment of the visit. The guides are also incredibly knowledgeable and very interesting to listen to, clearly very passionate about the property and Beatrix's life. I was inspired enough to purchase her biography on the way out!
  • Very cute little house lovely gardens. Highly recommend driving there, as taxis are scarce and their bus service has been discontinued since covid. We ended up walking a mile and a half from the ferry in the rain, which was not enjoyable at all and that really put a damper on the experience. The house itself and area is really beautiful, just know to expect a lot of walking If you don't drive yourself.
