A British Concorde, Spitfire, and Lancaster are among the over 200 international aircraft at IWM Duxford, Britain’s largest aviation museum. Housed on a former Royal Air Force airfield, the museum also has tanks, military vehicles, and naval vessels, including two midget submarines from World War II. A Battle of Britain exhibit is located in an original 1917 Belfast. A museum within a museum, the strikingly modern American Air Museum honors the 30,000 U.S. airmen who died flying from UK bases during World War II, as well as those who fought in battles since then. • Terrific museum. So much to see here and I could easily have spent more than 1 day. Awesome planes on display incl. Concord, Gannet, Vulcan, SR-71. Staff was incredible informative and friendly. They really just showed their love of airplanes. They told us so many extra interesting things. Loved visiting this museum.
  • Brilliant day out. So much to see and marvel at. Great coffee and clean toilets. Staff and volunteers knowledgeable and really interesting to talk to. All areas are accessible. Just a fascinating place to visit. We saw a vampire flying, doing lots of stunts and every ones favourite, the spitfire flying, and it was an ordinary day.
