    Too much litter and irresponsible dog owners leaving dog poo bags and rubbish. The town council need to do something / enforce fines/ make the beach not accessible to dogs

    Spent a day searching for sea glass on the famous beach. Unfortunately all the decent sizes/ colours have been taken over the years. We spent some time sieving sand through our fingers, which was successful in producing a handful of small 3/4mm pieces of mostly white sea glass. Worth the trip, as we found Seaham a relaxing place to visit.

    Fascinating. Due to a local glass factory tipping unwanted glass in to the sea, 100 years later the beach is peppered with little pieces of glass a few mm across. You can't help looking for the next piece. Quite capturing for all ages, and the local cafe had great coffee.
