Lyme Park encloses more than 400 hectares (1,000 acres) of English countryside, flower gardens, and a lavish mansion hall. The home's architecture features both Elizabethan and Baroque elements and was part of the Legh estate for over 600 years. The park and structures are open to visitors as part of the National Trust. As you explore the grounds on foot or by bicycle, try to spot medieval breeds of red and fallow deer. The Crow Wood playground is a hit with children, while adults often enjoy seeing the locations where "Pride and Prejudice" was filmed. Don’t forget to take home some local venison or one of the many varieties of cakes. To visit Lyme Park on your trip to Disley, use our Disley trip planner.

The grounds look neglected. The shop has very limited stock. Been a while since my last visit and the property certainly not as impressive as it once was.

Fantastic stately home with lots to see both inside and outside. Lots of rooms stuffed full of furniture and personal items that make it feel homely. The Room Steward's have a wealth of information who can answer any question. A lovely gift shop full of tasteful item for the home as well as some local beer, jams and chutneys, biscuits and sweets. The grounds are extensive with plenty of walking round pretty gardens as well as The Cage, a hunting lodge on the hill. There's also a lovely little orangery with tropical plants. There's also a cafe to rest and recover with home made cakes.

Huge estate and well worth the relatively modest entry fee. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. Beautiful house to go round. Extensive parkland with moorland, red deer, follies and woodland. Great for kids and dog friendly. Good range of cafes.
