Gaping Gill (also known as Gaping Ghyll) is a natural cave in North Yorkshire, England. It is one of the unmistakable landmarks on the southern slopes of Ingleborough – a 98-metre (322 ft) deep pothole with the stream Fell Beck flowing into it. After falling through one of the largest known underground chambers in Britain, the water disappears into the bouldery floor and eventually resurges adjacent to Ingleborough Cave.
The shaft was the deepest known in Britain, until Titan in Derbyshire was discovered in 1999. Gaping Gill still retains the records for the highest unbroken waterfall in England and the largest underground chamber naturally open to the surface.

Took advantage of the Bradford Pothole Club's May week winch meet to go down Gaping Gill pothole/cavern with 2 friends. We stayed overnight in Clapham village and set off at 6am arriving at 7.20am...

Awesome place, England's longest single fall waterfall. Though, you'll have to go when the Bradford Pothole Club have their winch meet on May bank holiday so you can see the cavern below. Well worth the money!

Wonderful and unique place to visit. Especially to go down with a winch lift those 100 meters deep down into the cave. These kind of events organises each year - Bradford Pothole Club. Price for adult 15 pounds, but the queues is very long though... you need to wait about: 3-4 hours, but worth it for sure to experience this kind of stuff. Highly recommending this place verdict - 9/10.
