  • We came here shortly after it opened to the public and have returned periodically. Each time sees some new discovery in terms of furniture etc, but we spot some new detail each time; this time it was window catches, though I still stand and stroke those beautiful leaf shaped door handles. Everything is so well presented and the wonderfully conserved Liberty chair is stunning. The cafe, too, is excellent and all the staff absolutely delightful.
  • Wonderful house, a real gem. Beautiful interior designed in the Arts & Crafts tradition. The drawing room is simply stunning - a real 'wow' when you enter. If you have a list of buildings to visit in the Lake District, put this near the top!
