Teesdale Alpacas (Open by Appointment Only), Barnard Castle

Very enjoyable morning. Sam and Doug looked after us and we had a great time walking with the very well behaved alpacas. Well worth doing.

Yesterday, spent with my daughter Fiona, Doug, Sam and their “boys and girls “ was truly one of the best days of my life. To see the alpacas so well and truly loved, in such beautiful surroundings highlights another world, far away from the strains and stresses of 21st century living. Each alpaca is known by its name, together with its family history, medical history, special likes and dislikes and “each boy and girl” is undoubtedly treasured. Walking and feeding such gentle beauties was an absolute privilege. I (reluctantly) left the alpacas, Doug and Sam, feeling totally calm, uplifted and so grateful to Doug and Sam for sharing their “sweethearts”, their knowledge, their expertise and most of all their love, their respect and their dedication.
