  • Stumble across the sign for this whilst visiting Barnard Castle for a couple of hours. What an unexpected delight. Free to visit, parking is by app/phone and only a couple of quid. Nothing there but the Abbey ruins, but a great visit. I liked the way the outlines of the walls are marked out so you can really get a feel for the layout of the old building.
  • Well maintained site, easy to walk to from Barnard Castle. The information boards around the site are very informative and help to form an impression of what the Abbey would have looked like centuries ago. Well worth a visit 👍
