Abisko, Sweden — 4 nights

Abisko's northern location free of light pollution makes it home to one of the greatest displays of the Northern Lights and midnight suns.
Spend the 11th (Mon) exploring nature at Abisko National Park. There's much more to do: go for a walk through Trollsjon, tour the pleasant surroundings at Riksgransen, get outside with Lights Over Lapland, and fly down the slopes at Bjorkliden Ski Resort.

Stockholm to Abisko is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. When traveling from Stockholm in July, plan for a bit cooler days in Abisko, with highs around 20°C, while nights are about the same with lows around 14°C. You will have some time to spend on the 14th (Thu) before leaving for Svolvaer.

The largest town on the Lofoten Islands, Svolvaer serves as a good base from which to launch your tour of the archipelago.

Getting from Abisko to Svolvaer by car takes about 4.5 hours. Other options: drive. In July in Svolvaer, expect temperatures between 19°C during the day and 12°C at night. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Sat) early enough to drive to Narvik.

or Áhkanjárga is the third-largest town and municipality in Nordland county, Norway by population. Kick off your visit on the 17th (Sun): fly down the slopes at Narvikfjellet and then get engrossed in the history at Narvik Krigsmuseum.

You can drive from Narvik to Kiruna in 2.5 hours. Another option is to drive. Traveling from Narvik in July, expect little chillier with lows of 10°C in Kiruna. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 18th (Mon) to allow time for the flight back home.
