Laganas — 7 nights

The center of nightlife on the island of Zakynthos, the popular tourist resort of Laganas boasts over a hundred bars and clubs.
Kids will enjoy Navagio Beach (Shipwreck Beach) and Majestic Spa. Get out of town with these interesting Laganas side-trips: Vasilikos (Gerakas Beach & St Nicholas Beach), Monastery of St George Kremnon (in Anafonitria) and Xigia Beach (in Koroni). There's much more to do: kick back and relax at Laganas Beach, head off the coast to Marathonisi (Turtle Island), tour the pleasant surroundings at Vrahos Beach, and get some thrills on the water with a speed boat tour.

To see other places to visit, traveler tips, ratings, and more tourist information, refer to the Laganas trip itinerary planning tool.

Brussels, Belgium to Laganas is an approximately 6.5-hour flight. You can also take a bus; or do a combination of train, ferry, and bus. The time zone changes from Central European Standard Time (CET) to Eastern European Standard Time (EET), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Plan for somewhat warmer temperatures traveling from Brussels in September, with highs in Laganas at 33°C and lows at 21°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 27th (Tue) to allow enough time to fly back home.

Flower of the East
Located just off the west coast of mainland Greece, Zakynthos enjoys a reputation as both a party destination and a family-friendly getaway. Packed with foreign tourists along its eastern and southeastern coastline, the island also features numerous tranquil pockets in its central region of forested mountains and rolling hills. Avoid the overcrowded east by discovering the island's less-explored northern sections, which contain a series of deep caves that feature sun reflecting on seawater and white stones, creating a striking shade of azure particular to this part of the world. The northern capes of the island also offer the calmest waters, which lap a string of developed beaches with plenty of modern facilities.
