Choeng Thale, Phuket — 7 nights

The relatively untouched municipality of Choeng Thale in the Thalang District of Phuket is a burgeoning destination for trekking routes across leafy green forest and jungle.
Step off the beaten path and head to Scuba & Snorkeling and Boat Avenue Villa Market. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Choeng Thale: Natai Beach (in Khok Kloi), Samet Nangshe Viewpoint (in Tha Yu) and Khao Lak (John And James Fashion & Royal Thai Navy Third Fleet Turtle Nursery). Plan for a day of cool, family-friendly fun on the 11th (Fri) at Blue Tree Phuket. There's much more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Elephant Family Phuket, contemplate the waterfront views at Phuket Fishing Park, surround yourself with nature on Elephant Retirement Park Phuket, and kick back and relax at Nai Thon Beach.

To see more things to do, where to stay, other places to visit, and other tourist information, go to the Choeng Thale trip itinerary planner.

Pearl of the Andamans
Thailand's largest island, Phuket lures both die-hard divers and casual beach lovers interested in spending most of their time basking in the sand and munching on local delicacies. Picturesque lagoons and an abundance of modern amenities may be the main incentive for a Phuket vacation, but you can find plenty of other things to do here once you get your fill of sun and sand. Away from the busy waterfront, the island boasts many gardens, Buddhist temples, museums, and aquariums that deserve a top spot on any traveler's Phuket itinerary.
