You can ride a ferry from Fira to Heraklion in 2.5 hours. Expect a daytime high around 85°F in July, and nighttime lows around 73°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 16th (Sat) to allow time to fly to Athens.

One of the world's most ancient cities, Athens remains Europe's undisputed historical and cultural capital.
On the 17th (Sun), take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church of Kapnikarea, then explore the ancient world of Temple of Hephaestus, then contemplate the long history of Acropolis of Athens, and finally get engrossed in the history at Acropolis Museum.

Traveling by flight from Heraklion to Athens takes 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of ferry and taxi; or ride a ferry. While traveling from Heraklion, expect a bit warmer days and about the same nights in Athens, ranging from highs of 91°F to lows of 75°F. Finish your sightseeing early on the 17th (Sun) so you can drive to Sparta.

Drive from Athens to Sparta in 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. Traveling from Athens in July, expect a bit cooler with lows of 66°F in Sparta. Finish your sightseeing early on the 18th (Mon) to allow enough time to drive to Thessaloniki.
