Pearl of the Danube

You might consider the city of Budapest, divided by the Danube River into two distinctive cities--Buda and Pest--to be essentially one large World Heritage Site.
Budapest is known for historic sites, sightseeing, and nightlife. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: don't miss a visit to Fisherman's Bastion, test the waters at a local thermal spa, steep yourself in history at Matthias Church, and take in the views from Szechenyi Lanchid.

Munich, Germany to Budapest is an approximately 4.5-hour flight. You can also drive; or take a train. In December, daily temperatures in Budapest can reach 5°C, while at night they dip to -1°C. You'll have a few hours on the 3rd (Tue) to wrap things up before traveling to Zagreb.

Little Vienna

Zagreb boasts a combination of Austro-Hungarian and Socialist architecture, but it is beloved for its outdoor cafe culture.
Start off your visit on the 3rd (Tue): take a stroll through Upper Town (Gornji Grad). On the 4th (Wed), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: explore the different monuments and memorials at Mirogoj Cemetery, admire the striking features of Cathedral of the Assumption, appreciate the history behind Ban Josip Jelačić Monument, then take in panoramic vistas at Zagreb 360, then don't miss a visit to Tkalciceva Street, and finally make a trip to Ban Josip Jelačić Square.

You can drive from Budapest to Zagreb in 3.5 hours. Other options are to take a shuttle; or take a bus. January in Zagreb sees daily highs of 5°C and lows of -3°C at night. Finish your sightseeing early on the 5th (Thu) to allow enough time to drive to Bled.

Bled, Slovenia — 2 nights

The most popular resort in Slovenia, Bled is marked by its iconic church steeple and medieval castle on glacial Lake Bled.
On the 6th (Fri), contemplate the waterfront views at Lake Bled. On the 7th (Sat), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the views from Triple Bridge and then wander the streets of Ljubljana Old Town.
