Phuket Town, Phuket — 1 night

The economic hub of the eponymous island, Phuket Town attracted merchants from China, India, and Portugal long before it became a tourist destination.
Start off your visit on the 9th (Thu): take in the spiritual surroundings of Big Buddha Phuket, catch a ride with Phuket Taxi Driver, and then buy something for everyone on your list at Central Phuket.

Plan my day in Phuket Town using traveler tips and tourist information provided by Inspirock.

Muscat, Oman to Phuket Town is an approximately 14.5-hour combination of flight and bus. The time zone difference moving from Gulf Standard Time to Indochina Time is 3 hours. Traveling from Muscat in June, things will get a bit cooler in Phuket Town: highs are around 37°C and lows about 28°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Thu) early enough to drive to Patong.

Patong, Phuket — 5 nights

Take advantage of nighttime entertainment and daytime relaxation on a Patong vacation.
Kids will appreciate attractions like Scuba & Snorkeling and Banyan Tree Spa Phuket. Change things up with a short trip to Napas Art Gallery in Choeng Thale (about 32 minutes away). There's much more to do: surround yourself with nature on Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket Offices, tour the pleasant surroundings at Green Elephant Sanctuary Park, buy something for everyone on your list at Jungceylon, and make a trip to Bangla Road.

For photos, traveler tips, other places to visit, and more tourist information, go to the Patong route planner.

Pearl of the Andamans
Thailand's largest island, Phuket lures both die-hard divers and casual beach lovers interested in spending most of their time basking in the sand and munching on local delicacies. Picturesque lagoons and an abundance of modern amenities may be the main incentive for a Phuket vacation, but you can find plenty of other things to do here once you get your fill of sun and sand. Away from the busy waterfront, the island boasts many gardens, Buddhist temples, museums, and aquariums that deserve a top spot on any traveler's Phuket itinerary.
