Baden — 6 nights

Baden, sometimes unofficially, to distinguish it from other Badens, called Baden bei Zürich or Baden im Aargau, is a municipality in Switzerland. You'll discover tucked-away gems like Romisch Katholische Kirche and Holzbrucke. When in Baden, make a side trip to see Wildpark Roggenhausen in Aarau, approximately Aarau away. The adventure continues: snap pictures at Limmatsteg, stroll through Seeuferweg Hallwilersee, take in panoramic vistas at Obertorturm, and don't miss a visit to Stadtturm.

Bournemouth, UK to Baden is an approximately 12-hour car ride. The time zone changes from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) to Central European Standard Time (CET), which is usually a 1 hour difference. Traveling from Bournemouth in August, expect nights in Baden to be about the same, around 15°C, while days are a bit warmer, around 29°C. Wrap up your sightseeing by early afternoon on the 31st (Mon) to allow time for the car ride back home.

Relaxation and tranquillity await you at the Canton of Aargau, best known for its hot sulphur and saline springs. The pile-dwellings of Beinwil am See and Seengen, both World Heritage Sites, evidence prehistoric settlements of the Neolithic and Bronze Age, while the villages of Endingen and Lengnau served as the country's Jewish ghetto in the 17th century. The region's heavily wooded plateau interlaced with rivers features plenty of ruined castles, fortresses, and old museums to peak your interest. Tour through local vineyards by foot or bike, or wash your worries away at the famed thermal spas.
